Responsibilities

  • The AWS cloud operations specialist or MS Azure cloud operations specialist is expected to implement solutions and develop procedures for ‘keeping the lights on” activities for applications hosted in AWS/Azure, based on a set of defined guidances and practices
  • Automation and DevOps are two key characteristics of the solution. Hence, candidate is expected to write script (e.g. AWS CLI script and develop AWS CloudFormation templates).
  • The candidate is also expected to enable the client's operations team through knowledge transfer, and on-the-job trainings during post-implementation support.
  • Work in a dynamic and international company;
  • Actively interact with technical-, business users and stake holders.
  • Configure and monitor availability and performance metrics
  • Develop and manage resource utilization, billing, and optimization process
  • Analyze performance bottleneck based on monitoring data
  • Configure and manage security polices, compliance policies, and access controls to AWS or Azure resources (e.g. Amazon EC2, Amazon Elastic Load Balancer, Amazon VPC, Amazon RDS etc.)
  • Configure and manage audit for AWS resources / Azure resources
  • Develop and operate backup/restoration procedure
  • Develop and operate patch management procedure
  • Develop or update CloudFormation script to automate provisioning of AWS resources Azure resources
  • Where applicable, develop AWS / Azure command line script or CloudFormation script to automate tasks
  • Respond and resolve production incidents related to AWS / Azure resources as well as operating systems running on EC2 instances (e.g. Redhat Enterprise Linux etc.)

Qualifications

  • 1 - 2 years' experience as a systems administrator in a systems operations role
  • Experience with maintaining operating systems at the command line (shell scripting in Linux environments, cmd or PowerShell in Windows)
  • Minimum of one-year hands-on experience with the AWS platform
  • Professional experience managing/operating production systems on AWS
  • Monitoring and auditing systems experience
  • Hands on experience with the AWS CLI and SDKs/API tools
  • Good grasp of fundamental security concepts with hands on in experience in implementing security controls and compliance requirements
  • (Preferred) Experience in running DevOps
